A.P.C. Mahalakshmi College for Women Hosted District-Level Inter-school event featuring Maha Quiz contest and Cultural Competitions ( APCIAN CARNIVAL 2K26) at Thoothukudi on August 7, 2026. The event was inaugurated by Dr.R. Sangeetha Chinnarani, District Chief Educational Officer, Thoothukudi, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and encouraged the students with her inspiring address. Dr. K.Palani, Principal of A.P.C. Mahalakshmi College for Women, presided over the function. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. H. Kokila Subathra Christy, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Event Coordinator.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from 218 students representing 20 Higher Secondary Schools across the district. Events included Bharatanatyam, Folk Dance, Painting, Speech, Modal making and Maha Quiz, providing a platform for students to showcase their artistic, literary, and intellectual talents.
The Overall Championship Trophy was won by Alagar Higher Secondary School, while Subbiah Vidyalayam School secured the Runner-up Championship Trophy.
The competitions recorded active participation, with 18 students in Painting, 10 students in Model Making, participants from 10 schools in the Quiz Competition, 11 participants in Bharatanatyam, and 18 participants in Folk Dance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. K. Neetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil. The event was coordinated with the support of Prof. P. G. Seethalakshmi, Dr. D. Sankari, Dr. S. Banumathi, and Dr. S. Vanitha, whose efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
